Virdee is a technology company providing best-in-class virtual reception and user interaction software for clients and their tenants, guests, and other stakeholders. Virdee helps building owners reduce costs and generate ancillary revenue by automating front-of-house workflows via its web and mobile application and in-lobby experiences. Using an API-first approach, Virdee connects platforms for identity verification, payment collection, access control and remote assistance while serving customers in lodging, multifamily and commercial real estate industries. 

The Challenge

Virdee had a strong mission: to be the market leader in the hospitality technology industry. Abode’s role was to expand and deepen Virdee’s media presence and strengthen its reputation across the industry with a four-month public relations strategy. 

Abode was tasked with positioning the brand founders as thought leaders in the space with regular commentary and opinion opportunities, while creating awareness of Virdee to support lead generation. In a crowded marketplace of new technology solutions for hospitality brands, Abode’s key challenge was to help Virdee cut through the noise and communicate its one-of-a-kind solutions. 

Our Solution

Abode’s strategy was to balance thought leadership opportunities with important news announcements across the four months we worked together. 

The Abode team initially sat down with both Virdee co-founders to get their thoughts, insights and opinions on the state of the industry, latest trends, and the future of hospitality technology to form story ideas. From there, the team set out crafting tailored pitches and stories, while developing a news schedule to communicate crucial announcements to key industry press – including integrations with FreedomPay, Crave and CloudBeds. 

Results

During the campaign, Abode secured 27 pieces of targeted industry press, in publications including Hotel Business Magazine, Boutique Hotel News, Hotel Management, PhocusWire, Lodging Magazine, Hotel Technology News and more. 

Abode also secured bylined opinion pieces in Hotel Business Review Magazine and Hospitality Technology, as well as a place on The Innovative Hotelier Podcast, strengthening the Virdee co-founders’ presence in the industry and positioning them as thought leaders. 

Consistent, on-brand exposure to customers, prospects, strategic partners, and stakeholders has helped to cement Virdee’s reputation in the short term rental and hospitality industry.
