Last month, Abode Worldwide attended the ‘virtual’ Short Stay Week 2021, where our Founder and Managing Director, Jessica Gillingham, spoke about PR and moderated a panel to discuss the future of the vacation rental industry.

Short Stay Week was developed after the pandemic restricted travel and face-to-face events. This year was the first digital conference dedicated to the vacation rental industry. Thought leaders and industry experts shared their insight, to educate professionals on trends and the future of the short-term rental industry.

With a Pan-European focus, including discussing the markets in France, Spain and Italy, the virtual conference prioritises learning over commercial interest. It’s a place to listen to how leaders reached success and to network with like minded professionals. All sessions were delivered in four languages; English, Spanish, French and Italian, and were recorded. So, if you missed the event, you can access the educational content here.

Some of the main topics covered include: direct booking, revenue and sales, and technology innovation. These are subjects that we at Abode Worldwide are exploring for our clients in terms of strategic PR opportunities and inbound content marketing.

On Tuesday 23 November, Jessica moderated a panel discussion: Tech Beyond 2021: Future proofing the vacation rental industry. Jeremy Gall, CEO of Breezeway, Nils Mattisson, CEO of Minut and Emmanuel Lavoie, CEO of Jetstream were all part of the conversation, where they delved into the challenges faced by property managers over the last couple of years, offered their expert insight on how the industry has evolved because of this, and what the future of the vacation rental industry may look like.

Our very own top public relations expert and short-term rental specialist, Jessica Gillingham, also presented a practical and educational talk on Public Relations: Doing it right for your business, where she taught listeners how to develop a PR strategy that brings tangible results to a business.
